QUICK BREAKOUT FIX

I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HAPPY to have found this Godsend product!

QUINODERM

I woke up with 8 majorly big and painful pimples and I was so horrified to see them, so I started to research how to get rid of them asap. I discovered I needed a product with either Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide, opted for the latter as its the stronger acne fighting ingredient of the 2. I wanted Panoxyl as it was dubbed a great acne treatment, but the pharmacy was out, so I went with Quinoderm which was their back up product. Within the 2nd day of using the product 6 of the 8 painful pimples were gone and within the 4th day the remaining 2 vanished. I was pretty excited the product worked so quickly, as I honestly didn't think it would. It had no major smell, or tingling feeling when I applied it, the consistency was almost that of toothpaste and it was easy to rub into the skin. It cost a little under JMD$1000. Its now my go to breakout fix. I didn't have any adverse reactions, but people react differently to products, so if you opt to purchase it, remember that.

Lip Products I'm Liking

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Been wanting to blog about lip products for a while now, so here it is :)
I have a love hate relationship with lip products, sometimes I like them, but, my lips doesn't; I have really sensitive lips. Last month I bought a lip stain, you know they are all the craze right now, and when I applied it like in a few minutes my lips were on fire, they hurt so badly. My lips looked fantastic, but the feeling was like someone poured gasoline on my lips and lit a match, so you know who will be staying away from those.

JORDANA LOL LIP OUT LOUD LIPGLOSS

Everyone knows Jordana products, they've been around forever and they are very accessible and cost efficient (you know, cheap -ssshhhhh) I copped this product at 1 of our local pharmacies here in Montego Bay. I gotta say this product was worth all my pennies. I got the Jordana LOL Lip Out Loud in BFF, which is a neon pink- yes very bright colour. The consistency was nice not too thick and it was easy to spread. The impact was a wowzer for me, it gave my lips a punch of colour and the gloss was saying, 'see me here,' from every angle. I also like the slightly curved applicator tip. I think it cost a lil over or under JMD$200 - not quite sure. By the way this gloss has the ability to stay on for a majorly long time.

JORDANA EASY SHINE GLOSSY LIP COLOUR

The packaging of this product fooled me- I thought it would be more of a cute glossy lip stick, but it wasn't. Not to disappoint though, it's a really fab product, I'm very pleased with it. It's like one of best lip balms out there, glides on like silk (I work with fabrics, I know) and it smells delish, it gives you just enough shine to be content, but not a high gloss finish  like your typical gloss. It feels really great on the lips- I love it and the packaging is cute. I had bought the Jordana Easy Shine Glossy Lip Colour in Pink Lemonade around the same time I purchased the Jordana LOL in BFF, both of them look and feel fabulous together on my lips. The price of the Easy Shine should be the same as the LOL Lipgloss.

GIFTS I RECEIVED WITH MY ELF (Eyes Lips Face) PURCHASE AND CHERRY CULTURE PURCHASE

ELF Eyes Lips Face is a cosmetic company that sells almost, if not every thing you can think of in makeup artistry for ridiculously low prices. You can find them online at www.eyeslipsface.com . I recently purchased a makeup belt and a bunch of makeup brushes from them and I am over the roof top excited with the quality and price. Anywho, they sent me a ELF Hypershine Gloss in Berry Cherry, which I am loving. The colour is 1 shade over nude and it doesn't feel icky and sticky (just made that up, lol- working on ma corny guys), it stays on very long and the gloss is very nice, its not blinding. How could I forget, Allure Magazine has given this product The Best of Beauty Award, so you know this lip gloss is just banging, and it only cost US$1- check it out!

ELF HYPERSHINE GLOSS

Discovered www.cherryculture.com  earlier this year and since then I've been purchasing from them, there prices are also phenomenal and they carry many different brands like NYX, LA Colours, LA Splash, Jordana and the list goes on. So yet again, I received a Cherry Culture Lip Balm in Bubble Gum, which is my favourite lip balm to date, I love it, I wish I could get it here in Jamaica. When you smell it, you want to just gobble it up and it makes your lips feel super moisturized and for a lip balm, it lasts extremely long, even when you eat and drink, its still on there.

CHERRY CULTURE LIP BALM

I can tell you for sure, if you try these products you'll be pleased with the price and the quality :)

I gotto tell you about these TWEEZERS

Hola Chicas and Gents :)

                              TWEEZERMAN TWEEZERS

So I gotta let you know about the HOLY GRAIL of TWEEZERS. I'm like super excited too and super late. You know when you've discovered a great product and you had seen it all along, but, you didn't shell out the cash to buy it and now you've bought it you could just beat yourself for loosing out on it for so long? So that's the feeling I'm having. So earlier this year I went to a beauty supply store in Whitter Village (can't remember the name of it, but its beside Avalon Pharmacy), here in Montego Bay. It's an uptown shopping complex that basically has all you need, whatever you can think of, they have it!

A Section of Whitter Village Shopping Complex

So I was there buying cosmetics and I saw this really cool Tweezerman tweezer, real ergonomic looking, it looked like the real deal. When lady at the counter told me the price I think it was like over JMD$1000, so I was like cool, thanks, but, no thanks. Okay, okay,  the story didn't go like that, she told me the price and I let out the biggest brawling laughter ever, I was like tell me your joking! Then I said to her, 'I should really take up my good, good money and spend it on a tweezer?' At this point she was cracking up too and probably saying this cheap ass lady needs to leave ma store, so I think I heard her thoughts and left on that note.
So, I'm going to start a Professional Makeup Course this week in Kingston and I got a long list of items to purchase and on there was a tweezer, so I decided to cop ma lil Tweezerman. I couldn't wait to use it- you know to see what the fuss was about, maaaaaan, the Tweezerman experience was heavenly! No joke and everyone knows tweezing just aint fun, but, with this lil guy it was a breeze. It's not your regular JMD$90 tweezer that you would buy in the chiney man shop. Let me tell you, its like the hairs saw Tweezerman coming and just jumped out, its crazy. If I lost mine and I had to get another and they said the price was JMD$2000, I would be shelling out ma money to pay for it with no hesitancy. I'm for real, this thing is the real shiznit, the shape, the precise point, the grasp, everything. I would recommend this ASAP. I didn't get the cute ones like in the pic above, I got one like in the pic below.

Simply ADORE these looks!

My GO TO MASCARAS- Revlon and Maybelline

A pair of great lashes can open up your eyes, just as how great shaped eyebrows can frame your face perfectly. I love, love, love lashes and I was pretty fortunate to be born with a lovely set. However, I do believe in investing in the enhancement of them via mascaras. You can always enhance what you have. I notice that I get a lot of compliments on my eyes, due to their large size, so why not compliment them with lovely lashes?! So mascaras have indeed become my friend and I hardly ever leave home without them. Two of my faves are Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition and Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Hydrofuge.

I have to tell you the truth! I bought this cuz it was cheap, Thank God this time my cheapness never cost me :) This product is insanely great, just superific, absolutely positively fab! At one end it has a primer and then on the opposite end has the mascara and I'm telling you it works like a dream; a dream come true that is. I have never used a mascara that gives me individualized looking lashes, its almost as if it separates each lash and they all shout out, 'we are individually sexy.' I wish my camera was working so I could show you mine this morning when I applied this mascara. The mirror imprisoned me, I couldn't stop staring at them. What I loved about this product is I didn't have to do like a 1000 coats to get this desired effect; trust me 3 the most and the look was achieved. My lashes looked like the picture above- no lies! I would definitely recommend copping this product 5 stars straight rating.

Now the lashes of all lashes can be achieved with this little magic tool and when I say magic tool I do for sure mean magic! Just like the product says 'The Falsies Volum Express,' that is what is given. When I applied this baby to my lashes I felt I was ready for the run way, looking all Diva- fied, chile!  I felt like I put on a regal gown on my lashes, they were like in your face, I've arrived kinda lashes. They looked deliciously false, but not in a bad way, as I said, Diva- fied. They made my lashes look a million times longer and thicker, my bad boys looked like they were just full and out there for the world to see. This, like the Revlon mascara above, didn't need a lot of coating. I loved the results. I wear this when I'm going out as my statement piece for my eyes, you know to give a bit more drama than the regular 9- 5. This is definitely another 5 star product, but, its worth so much more in my book.

These 2 mascaras are definitely 2 great products, that achieve 2 different results. Revlon provides clarity, while Maybelline provides drama; they are like my day and night products.

Foundation Primers- SMASH BOX and PRIME TIME

When I put on foundation, guaranteed in less than a hour my face is gonna look like a shiny mess. So I decided to do something about it, so I bought 2 foundation primers which is said to slow down the oil build up underneath the foundation. Smash Box was my primer of choice.

Let me tell you, this thing worked wonders! I still had a little shine on my nose, but that was hours after putting on my primer. I felt it was a good purchase. It is an oil free product, so I loved that aspect of it. It had a nice consistency and it didn't take too long to dry and when it did, my face had a matte finish.  My face didn't break out, which I was happy about, as I read many reviews and that was the number 1 complain.

The 2nd foundation primer I purchased was Prime Time. I'd never heard about it before purchasing, but the Sales Agent at Sephora highly recommended it. I'm glad I purchased it also. It cost less than Smashbox and that on its own is a winner for me (u know I'm a cheapie). It had a gel like consistency and depending on how much you put on, it may take a little time to dry. My face did very well using this product, no oil slicks for hours and it also made my face look matte and cool. I love it. For the cost of these 2 products, I would say its a great investment. Mind you, if you spend lots of time out in the sun, especially Jamaica sun (yes I know its the same sun, but honestly its a different degree of heat than else where in the world), you may need a stronger product than these 2. Good buys- go check them out :)

Eyeshadow Primers- Urban Decay versus ELF

I love eyeshadow primers, they have opened up my eyes to the world of eyeshadows. They make my eye shadow stay on forever and they make the colors come ALIVE. I have watched a million tutorials and the eyeshadow primer of choice seems to be Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I have shopped around for it in Jamaica, but I couldn't get my hands on it any where, so when I went away last month, I made sure to purchase it, all USD$19 worth of it.
I really wanted to see what the fuss was about, so I copped it. I think its a really good primer, but honestly I appreciate my little inexpensive eyeshadow primer from Elf, which cost only a USD$1. The Urban Decay Primer Potion is a very good product, don't get me wrong.I find that my  Elf eyeshadow primer makes my eyeshadows stay on for hours and my eyeshadows seem to pop the same way as they would if I were using the Urban Decay Primer Potion. In addition, the ELF eyeshadow primer is easier to blend than Urban Decay. Urban Decay's consistency is more thick and creamy versus Elf, which is more watery, but quick to dry.
Hands down Urban Decay Primer Potion takes the win for packaging, the product container is colorful and stylish, while Elf Eyeshadow Primer is very basic, nothing to write about except the quality and price, which is what I favor most. People may say I'm crazy, but, its the truth.

Check out my ELF link to the right of the page, to see more of ELF's great inexpensive $1 products and more.

Sigma Brush Review

I have been obsessed with Sigma Brushes even before I got my hands on them. You know when you've discovered something and you really really want it and you try every single way to get the item, because you feel that you just got to have it. Well that was me. I finally got into makeup last year and then I learned that you need all these tools to apply them. That's when I became a Youtube Fanatic :) Ne who, I discovered Sigma brushes and I joined their affiliate program and they sent me their Travel Brush Kit Naughty in Black, which is valued at USD$49. I was floored! I haven't replaced my broken camera as yet, so I took a picture off the net that showcased the same kit I received from Sigma.
Sigma Travel Kit Naughty in Black
Clutch dimensions (closed): 7 x 4 inches. Brushes in this kit include:
Pencil - E30 - Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, and upper and lower lash line. Also ideal to smudge out pencil liner. Natural bristles.
Eye Shading - E55 - Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.
Tapered Blending - E40 - Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.
Large Powder - F30 - Very dense with a rounded top. Ideal to apply powder products on face and body. Natural bristles.
Large Angled Contour - F40 - The angled shape makes this brush ideal to apply blush or contour shades. Natural bristles.
Foundation - F60 - Can be used to apply liquid or cream foundation. It is also recommended to apply moisturizers and conceal large areas. Synthetic bristles.
Concealer - F70 - The rounded, tampered, flat shape makes this brush ideal to conceal the under eye area. It is also recommended for a precise application in small areas. Synthetic bristles.

MY THOUGHTS: I love them all, except the Tapered Blending Brush- I prefer my blending brush to be a bit more compact at the top. The Foundation Brush does its job, I have no complaints. I'm in love the Concealer Brush, which I use to apply my brow highlight. The Eyeshading Brush and Pencil Brush are a definite must have. The Large Powder Brush and the Large Angled Contour Brush, I use everyday now, they are my go to brushes.  I was really impressed with my Sigma Brushes. I would recommend the Travel Kit to anyone. What I liked about them also, they were not very small and not excessively large; for me they were just the right fit. I had purchased the Travel Kit from Coastal Scents and though they were really lovely brushes, they were just too small.

Brawta: What we refer to in Jamaica as, something extra.
My brawta from Sigma was the Duo Fibre Brush, which I love! It makes my foundation looks airbrushed and flawless.

October the month of beauty products reviews

Well if u have noticed, my blog has changed up a bit, with the font and some other little stuff which I really don't like. Not to worry I will figure how to fix it soon.
So I'm super duper excited, I have so many grand products (well not that much) to show you, which I will be doing through out this month. So after all these years of walking pass Sephora, I finally went in and now I'm an addict, I'm super obsessed with their store :)

Make up Forever HD Powder

This is my new drug! I can honestly say this is the best finishing powder I've ever bought and used in my life. I love it! I'm a deep chocolate girl and I was very skeptical about buying this, but I'm so happy I did. This product sets your foundation and makes you look so good. I don't look ashy and ghostly, instead it makes me look more polished and flawless. I use it with a light hand, so I don't pick up too much on my powder brush and I slightly sweep it across my face to all the areas I had applied foundation to. I notice with this powder I do not get oily easily. It was worth every penny. I would recommend this product to everyone, everywhere. I bought mine @ a Sephora in Florida.

Make Up For Ever HD Powder ($30) is a universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone. It sets the foundation and slightly mattifies skin without changing its natural contours. This 100% mineral silica powder softens the appearance of imperfections. Completely evens out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look. One universal shade is suitable for all skin tones. Sephora is the exclusive beauty retailer for this product.
